Baheya Hospital has received donations worth EGP 100,000 to support breast cancer patients in Egypt as part of the hospital’s campaign in October to contribute to the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

The donations were made by the famous cinnamon rolls chain Cinnabon – Egypt from the proceeds of the sales of its Strawberry Lemonattas juice. The donations were sent to the hospital in support of the campaign.

The pink color of the juice matches the pink theme of the campaign and the pink ribbons used universally as a symbol of breast cancer awareness and methods of detection and early treatment.
Baheya Foundation is a non-profit charity founded by Ms. Baheya Wahby. It treats women with breast cancer, the most common type of cancer among Egyptian women. It is one of the largest hospitals in Egypt which help women discover and treat breast cancer.

In Baheya, treatment is provided free of charge and all services offered to patients are covered, throughout all stages of treating the disease: early detection, surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, psychotherapy and clinical nutrition.

Baheya’s campaign focuses on changing the prevailing habit among Egyptian women to put their homes and families first before their health. The hospital seeks to promote the idea that women need to be healthy in order to take care of their families, and therefore, it encourage women to undergo early examinations (starting at the age of 30) as well as eat healthy food, walk and exercise.

Donations to the campaign highlight the fact that emotional support plays a big role in the fight against cancer, and Cinnabon has taken part in the campaign to call for reassuring Egyptian women fighting the disease and helping them return safely to their families, careers and lives.

Cinnabon has been operating in Egypt since 2003 and has 35 branches in several governorates across the country, including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Tanta, Mansoura and Port Said.
