Ensan Film’s award goes to ” The Land Beyond ” at CIFF’s Cairo Film Connection

Ensan Films has given its award to “The Land Beyond” film project by Nadine Salib, produced by Hala Lotfy. The award, worth $7,000 and presented to the film as the best feature-length project in development or post production.

Mohamed Fahmy, one of the founders of Ensan Films handed the award to Mrs. Salib with the presence of international producers and filmmaker at a ceremony held in the Intercontinental Hotel in  Cairo on November 26th.

The award was during  the 6^th edition of the Cairo Film Connection and Ensan Films was one of the main sponsors.  The festival concluded on 29 ^{November  with a closing event at the Opera House followed by}  a glamorous party in the open air with the Pyramids in the background.

The jury responsible for choosing the winning films was headed by famous Egyptian scriptwriter Mariam Naoum and a number of prominent figures in the cinema industry.

On the sidelines of the event, Fahmy stressed that that he is happy with Ensan Films’ participation in the Cairo International Film Festival, and congratulated Mohamed Hefzy, the president  festival, and a board member of Ensan Films for “taking the festival to another level”

Fahmy added that Ensan Films will be unveiling a documentary that explores Turkey’s support for ISIS in Syria in 2020. The film is directed by American journalist Lindsey Snell and will include exclusive interviews with officials, military personelle, victims of ISIS and interviews with senior ISIS members who detailed Turkeyks  role in training them to make bombs and how they planted them in various areas in Syria. Snell visited a prison housing 5000 ISIS members from 28 countries who have mostly entered Syria through the Turkish border with support from the Turkish intelligence.

Dr. Ahmed Kamel, a board member of Ensan Films and head of public realtions, said that the documentary will air on an American media outlet  will run in film festivals during the first quarter of 2020.

Ensan Films is a platform dedicated to producing documentary films and investigations that put a focus on human rights. It was founded in 2019 by veteran journalists Mohamed Fahmy and Youssef Al-Housseiny.
