Given the Six Audience Key Personalities Marketers looking for in Ramadan that has been recently uncovered by Google, it is necessary to dig a little deeper into their online behavior on YouTube during the month to better understand what content they consume and how.

Google has defined four things audience looking to do in Ramadan (Watch, Learn, Play and Explore).

1. Watch:

Videos are increasingly watched in Ramadan. That’s why video creators produce more content to make the best use of YouTube’s mobility during the Holy Month.

Further, People actively search for ads during Ramadan as they enjoy the music, spiritual connection and celebrity ads.

2. Learn:

Google insights reveal that 83% of millennials believe they can find a YouTube video on anything they want to learn. However watch time of beauty, makeup, grooming and fashion content on YouTube record a 75% growth during Ramadan.

Ramadan audiences also watch YouTube to discover cooking ideas and recipes for iftar and suhoor during Ramadan.

3. Play:

People enjoy watching others playing games online, reviewing games, and watching videos of games during Ramadan.

According to Google, Sports views also peak in Ramadan and topics like Mohamed Salah or Liverpool receiving a 98% increase in views during the month.

4. Explore:

Eid is one of the busiest search activities in the year, because air travel and hotel searches surge as travel planning for Eid takes place.

Ramadan is also a key moment for gifting and demand for discounts and promotions on specific categories grew between 40% and 76% during Ramadan last year.
