Viu, the OTT video streaming service operating in 16 markets across Asia, MENA, and South Africa, owned and operated by the PCCW Group, today announced legendary comedian Mohamed Saad’s return to Ramadan television.

In the Viu Original X-Lance, he plays the role of Hajj Hennawi, an intolerable man who lives in a tower block and causes the other unfortunate residents daily distress. He is soon entangled in a web of intrigue with a local gang, with hilarious results. Viewers can enjoy 30 exclusive episodes on Viu featuring Ahmad Fathi, Sherine, Weezo and Omar Mustafa Metwaly in supporting roles.

Rohit D’silva, Chief Business Officer, Middle East and South Africa at Viu said: “We are delighted to introduce X-Lance, which promises to be a rollercoaster ride of laughter and suspense with a talented cast that brings the characters to life. With its unique blend of comedy and drama, it is sure to keep audiences hooked from start to finish. Viu has a goal to become the go-to destination for Egyptian entertainment, catering to a growing audience of young and diverse viewers. We also plan to collaborate with local talent and production companies to bring fresh and innovative content for our audiences throughout the year.”
