  • Sakr: “ASRT treasures fruitful collaboration with SFC, launching “Economic Manufacturing for Non-hydrogenated Ghee” competition through EIB portal, for a healthier lifestyle.”

Savola Foods Company (SFC), part of Savola Group, celebrates signing cooperation protocol with Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) to better the health & wellbeing of the entire nation, using R&D. Such prolific collaboration aims at encouraging Egypt’s promising innovators; living inland or abroad, on ingeniously manufacturing non-hydrogenated ghee as a safer & healthier alternative to hydrogenated products.

SFC’s latest endeavors crown the witnessed successes achieved throughout “ Al Moadla Al Sah” awareness campaign; where 720K citizens across 11 governorates in Delta & Upper Egypt expanded their knowledge on hydrogenation’s adverse health effects & rectified their education on proper nutrition. Building upon such marvelous accomplishments, the company joined forces with ASRT to integrate R&D with food manufacturing, dexterously introducing a non-hydrogenated ghee to the Egyptian market.

The contest is designed to honor the best 3 groundbreaking solutions tailored to provide healthier options for hydrogenated ghee. SFC & ASRT will award winners with rewarding prizes ranging from EGP 10-30K in addition to certificates of appreciation endorsing their innovations’ themes.”

President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Prof. Mahmoud M. Sakr – praised the fruitful collaboration made with SFC to launch “Economic Manufacturing for Non-hydrogenated Ghee” scientific competition through the (Egyptian Innovation Bank) portal, encouraging a healthier lifestyle. Sakr highlighted that the State’s e-platform was first inaugurated by President Al Sisi at Youth Forum – Cairo University, where ASRT was delegated back then to transform the website into a permanent annual market for innovation. Thanks for its being one of the most prominent scientific publishing houses in the MENA region, ASRT is to issue as well a scientific & educational encyclopedia; electronically & in paper-print, comprising a number of brilliant researches & studies made by the hands of smart Egyptian college students on hydrogenation.

To conclude, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology urged all concerned parties to integrate R&D with manufacturing operations. Sakr further highlighted the Academy’s pivotal role in subsidizing industries through executing the National Program for Knowledge & Technology Alliances (EG-KTAs). He commented: “We are no longer living on our own, stakeholders should synergize their potentials to thrive with national industries and that what best describes Egypt’s vision towards the future.”
