The winners of 2019 MENA Effie Awards have been announced during the 11th edition awards ceremony that took place on 6th November at the Coca-Cola Arena Dubai, with the participation of 2,000 top marketing and advertising professionals.

A total of 24 Golds, 45 Silvers and 40 Bronzes were awarded throughout the night. The 2019 crop of winners were selected from 288 shortlisted entries across 35 categories. The most awarded brands – Saudi Telecom Company and Emirates NBD, with six awards each.

Alexandre Hawari, CEO of Mediaquest – the organiser of the MENA Effie Awards – commented: “2019 saw tighter budgets, increasing pressure to deliver revenue and growing competition in the industry, but despite this high-pressure environment, marketing professionals have upped the ante with new levels of innovation, creativity and resourcefulness. This is what we look for in our award-winners, who have all successfully faced the challenges by finding ever more strategic and targeted ways to reach audiences and deliver a solid return on investment.”

Grand Prix: “The Roaming Puppet” campaign by J.Walter Thompson for Saudi Telecom Company. J.Walter Thompson and STC grabbed six other awards (three Gold, two Silver and one Bronze) working together.

Most Effective Advertising Agency Office and Most Effective Agency Network of the Year: FP7 McCann Dubai and FP7 McCann respectively, retaining their crowns from the previous years. The network collectively won an overwhelming 44 awards throughout the night, including 9 Gold, 19 Silver and 16 Bronze trophies.

Most Effective Media Agency Office of the Year: PHD Dubai and UM Saudi Arabia in a rare tie.

SME Recognition Award: The Lighthouse Centre for Wellbeing for “unspoken, uae”, that was also awarded a Silver in the Small Budgets: Services category.

Marketer of the Year: Ms. Ozge Zoralioglu, CMO, YUM! Brands KFC.
