As part of its development plan in all sectors, the Board of Directors of Egypt’s United Media Services (UMS) appointed Albert Shafiq as Chairman of ON TV Network.
It is noteworthy that Albert Shafiq was graduated from faculty of Mass Media at Cairo University in 1993. He previously served as CEO at Al-Nahar TV Network in 2016 before holding the same position at Extra News TV Channel alongside with taking over the task of supervising the development of Egyptian TV’s channel one.
He also worked as director of the Video Cairo News Agency, through which he dealt with a large number of international satellite channels such as CNN, BBC, NHK, Fox News, MBC and ZDF, and then established the agency’s office in Beirut and Iraq.
In addition to founding Al-Nahrain channel in Iraq and taking over its management in 2004, and founding ON TV, the first independent Egyptian news channel, which he assumed presidency in 2008, as well as ON TV Live, ONA News Agency, and ONA Media Training Academy in 2012.
