Amazon Payment Services delivered a presentation at Seamless Middle East 2021 to discuss why “Customer Obsession Is Key to Reimagining Digital Payments.” The presentation marked a successful first year at Seamless Middle East for Amazon Payment Services, which also won the Seamless Award for ‘Best Payments Experience’ at the event.

The presentation was delivered by Managing Director Peter George, who was recently appointed to lead Amazon Payment Services, a payment processing service that operates across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region with a mission to empower online businesses with a simple, affordable, and trusted payment experience. A 10-year Amazon veteran and a proven leader with a passion for building the future of digital commerce, George brings over 20 years of experience in digital services to the role.

During his presentation, George spoke about the customer-obsessed philosophy and how it can be harnessed by payment service providers to identify customer pain points and craft a more convenient, seamless and secure payment process.

“Customer obsession means dedicating yourself to creating the best customer experience possible in all ways by putting their needs first and making business decisions accordingly. We built Amazon Payment Services on this philosophy, using our deep understanding of businesses’ needs across the region to empower organizations with safe and seamless online payment experiences,” George said.

He added: “The key to forging closer relationships with our merchants has always been communication. We maintain an open dialogue with our clients and multiple feedback mechanisms across a number of channels to ensure that our merchants can always reach out to us with feedback, comments or requests for assistance.”

Amazon Payment Services’ participation in Seamless Middle East 2021 marks their first year at the event since rebranding from PAYFORT. Through their participation, Amazon Payment Services aim to contribute to the exciting discussions taking place surrounding digital payments and fintech, get closer to existing and prospective clients and build dialogues with them, and connect with likeminded businesses that share Amazon Payment Services’ passion for innovation and customer obsession.

A testament to the quality of its service offering, Amazon Payment Services was awarded Best Payments Experience at the Seamless Middle East Awards 2021, highlighting the company’s success at providing a secure, convenient, easy-to-use online payment gateway. Amazon Payment Services has enhanced ease of use and effectiveness by solving problems for customers, getting closer to merchants, and doubling down on information security. They design and develop features to empower merchants with user-friendly, secure and innovative services, making digital payments convenient for both partners and their customers.

Amazon Payment Services also exclusively launched the AWS (Amazon Web Services) PrivateLink service at Seamless Middle East. AWS PrivateLink provides simple, secure and private connectivity between Amazon Payment Services merchants on AWS and all downstream payments partners, without exposing customer payment transaction data to the internet.
