Garena Free Fire and Moroccan Rapper Khtek have unveiled a music video to commemorate Booyah Day celebrations and inspire gamers across the Middle East and North African (MENA) region.
The collaboration sees Garena team up with Houda Abouz, aka Khtek, for an exclusive song dedicated to the Booyah Day celebrations in the MENA region. The song titled BATTLE IN STYLE is named after the recently unveiled brand identity of Garena Free Fire.
Booyah is used in Free Fire to symbolize victory and is often used by gamers to express other moments of joy and excitement. Booyah Day celebrates the moments of achievements both in the game and in real life.
Abouz is a singer, songwriter, filmmaker and photographer from Khemisset, whose songs are delivered in Moroccan Arabic dialect with French or English phrases that give a taste of the Moroccan streets. Long fascinated by hip-hop, the 26-year-old who majored in film studies at the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University in Tétouan was encouraged by her friends to perform and has battled her way to become the first female rap singer in Morocco.
Abouz said: “The song is a perfect representation of the Garena Free Fire’s new brand identity. It seeks to inspire everyone including Free Fire players to take on challenges in their own style in life or in-game.”
Khtek released her debut single KickOff last year and has also appeared on the track Hors Serie, performing alongside three of Morocco’s biggest male rap stars – ElGrande Toto, Don Bigg, and Draganov.
In the song titled “BATTLE IN STYLE”, Khtek touches upon the need to work hard, embrace all challenges and obstacles and overcome them to become a champion in Free Fire, just like in real life.
The collaboration with Khtek is part of Garena’s commitment towards delivering more local content for players in the region to enjoy.
