Cinnabon – Egypt has launched a hashtag called “YallaFika” on social media to celebrate World Coffee Day on October 1 and Cinnamon Roll Day on October 4. Through the new hashtag, famous Cinnabon seeks to make the Swedish term “FIKA” famous in the Egyptian culture. Fika means “coffee break with cinnamon baked goods”, which is a daily tradition in Scandinavia, especially in Sweden.
In celebration of the two occasions, Cinnabon encourages cinnamon rolls lovers in Egypt to choose the perfect pair of their favorite Cinnabon and coffee for a unique experience inspired by authentic European traditions.
The Fika trend that is sought to be become viral on social media revolves around the fact that cinnamon rolls are baked to be enjoyed with coffee on the side, and that to each their own taste in coffee. This is why Cinnabon gives its lovers the chance to choose the perfect pair (coffee and cinnamon rolls) by providing them with a simplified guide on what the most perfect pair for them is.
Noteworthy, the Cinnamon Rolls industry began with an experiment implemented by a father and his son years ago to create distinct and special rolls made of fresh dough and the famous makara cinnamon. On December 4, 1985 the first Cinnabon bakery in the world was opened after a lot of trial and error.
Cinnabon was founded in Seattle in 1985 and has moved its parent company to Atlanta, USA. Cinnabon is the world’s leading cinnamon bakery maker with over 1200 Cinnabon bakeries operating as franchises worldwide. Along with its famous baked cinnamon rolls, the company also offers a variety of hot and cold drinks.
The company operates a number of branches in several Egyptian governorates including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Tanta, Mansoura, Port Said and others.
